- Description
- The post holder will be responsible for supporting a cohort of Electrical Installation Apprentices to fully achieve all aspects of their training programme and ensure that they are fully prepared to undertake the end point assessment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Be a member of course teams responsible for the effective and efficient organisation and delivery of high-quality learning programmes.
- Provide high quality support for electrical installation apprentices and liaise with employers to ensure a high quality of learner experience.
- Deliver an agreed programme of teaching to electrical installation learners.
- Complete, maintain and manage accurate data and records as appropriate to the role, including online apprenticeship systems.
- Proactively contribute to curriculum and self-development (including CPD, research and scholarly activity) aligned to current and future business need and supporting growth of the curriculum.
- Demonstrate consistently the positive attitudes, values and behaviours of the organisation.
Duties undertaken by the postholder may include (but are not limited to) responsibility for:
- Identification and assessment of apprentices’ needs and progress.
- Planning, designing and developing high quality learning programmes and sessions that drive apprentice progress.
- Ensuring apprentices have achieved the relevant knowledge, skills and behaviours including all on programme qualifications where relevant and are end point assessment ready.
- Apprentices are effectively tracked and previous use of e-portfolio systems would be advantageous.
- Responsible for ensuring regular apprentice reviews are carried out with employers and off the job training is recorded effectively by apprentices.
- Delivering high quality learning and teaching programmes and activities that underpin positive outcomes for apprentices.
- Designing and implementing innovative assessment strategies to assess learning and apprentices’ achievements including keeping abreast of new apprenticeship standards.
- Providing high quality feedback to apprentices to drive improvement.
- Undertaking assessment, verification and self-assessment processes in line with agreed NCG / Divisional Quality procedures.
- Monitoring the quality performance of the programme(s), making timely and effective interventions to ensure positive impact for apprentices.
- Establishing and maintaining productive relationships with employers, parents.
- Ensuring the effective recruitment, attendance, retention, achievement, progression and destinations of apprentices.
- Supporting recruitment and marketing activities.
- Monitoring, evaluating and improving the quality and effectiveness of personal practice and that of learning programmes and sessions.
Person Specification :
- Level 3 qualifications in electrical installation qualified to installation electrician industry-recognised standard
- Post-16 Teaching Qualification (Diploma in Education and Training (DET) or equivalent, e.g. Cert Ed. Foundation Degree, etc., or, PGCE) upon appointment or willingness to achieve within an agreed timeframe
- Appropriate assessor/IQA qualification or equivalent or willingness to achieve within an agreed timeframe
- Commitment to reflective practice, continuous professional development and performance improvement (which can be evidenced)
- English and maths at Level 2 (GSCE / O Level, Grade C/4 or above) or equivalent upon appointment or willingness to achieve within an agreed timeframe
- Previous experience of delivering apprenticeship programmes and
- assessing / coaching apprentices in the workplace to successful outcomes in readiness for end point assessment.
- Experience of utilising learning technologies, ILP’s, tracking processes and monitoring systems including e-portfolio’s to support and track learners to progress and achieve.
- Proven track record of relevant professional / vocational expertise
- Relevant industry experience aligned to sector area.
