- Main Tasks & Responsibilities
Learner Recruitment
- Have a thorough Understanding of all Study Programme training programmes that the business offer
- Source potential learners to participate in the programmes they offer across Basildon sites, ensuring annual targets are met for study programmes
- Enable young people to explore the options available to them for education and support
- Work with local authorities to engage learners with EHCP’s
- To obtain (EHCP) Educational Health & Care Plans for young people to fully understand any learning needs, and to lease with teaching/learning staff to put the necessary support in place, standing the learner the greatest chance of success in achieving their goals
- To set up and complete initial assessments to fully ascertain the young person’s current level of ability and learning style, so they have a starting point of what qualifications they can support them in achieving
- Communicate with parents, guardians and professionals
- Keep records up to date and accurate for centre reporting
- Complete enrolment forms accurately ensuring all information is captured to support the young person
- Attend network events, schools careers events and present study programmes
Behaviour/Pastoral Coach
- Pastoral sessions with potential learners to support them in breaking down any barriers to learning.
- Build a thorough knowledge and understanding of agencies that support young people, so you are able to offer the best impartial IAG Information, Advice & Guidance.
- Work with young people to improve their behaviour and respond to incidents within the centre when required
- Develop behaviour support plans for improvement
- Communicate concerns effectively with all tutors, LSA’s and centre manager
- Be the go to person for when a learners is disruptive and needs some break out time
- Obtain information of support agencies i.e. posters/ Leaflets etc and maintain the IAG Zone within centre, keeping support information up to date and accessible for their learners
Work Experience
- Build relationships with employers to help with the sourcing of work placements and to support with progression.
- Work with tutors to place learners on work experience at the appropriate planned times
- Ensure all work experience paperwork is in place and accurate
- All health and safety documents and been accurately completed and approved
Continuing Professional Development
- Take full advantage of any relevant training and development available and undertake any necessary professional development as identified in self-assessment review and action plans.
- Be a reflective practitioner, evaluating and improving own practice to take learner recruitment forward.
- Maintain a professional CPD record
- Under guidance from your Line Manager, participate in a full induction programme
- Monitoring and Continual Improvement
- Follow the OFSTED education inspection framework and contribute to the company self-assessment process.
- Undertake regular CPD and record it using company documents.
- Undertake qualifications where suitable as part of your own learning and development.
- Take proactive approaches to ensure Safeguarding and Prevent is embedded into your role and ensure issues are raised accordingly, in line with Safeguarding Policy using the appropriate recording and reporting tools.
- Prepare for and attend monthly review meetings with your line manager
- Complete management and administration tasks relating to CRM and SharePoint systems
- Ensure any complaints are raised accordingly in line with Complaints Policy
- Awarding Organisations/Funders/OFSTED
- Follow all company policies and procedures.
- Understand funder regulations and rules for participants and employers
- Participate in OFSTED inspections as required.
- Be very familiar with key company policies
An enhanced DBS check with barred list will be a requirement for this position.
Qualifications
- Information, advice and guidance qualification (IAG) - Level 2 – 6 (Desirable)
- Youth work qualification - Level 3 + (Desirable)
- English and maths - GCSE C/4 or functional skills at L2 (Essential)
- Recruiting 16 – 19 years learners for educational programmes (Essential)
- Assessing learners needs prior to stating (Desirable)
- An understanding of Educational Health & Care plans & Send (Desirable)
- Experience of networking and building partner relations (Essential)
- Experience of supporting learners positively behaviours difficulties (Essential)
- Experience of breaking down barriers to learning and putting support in place (Essential)
- FE Education experience (Desirable)
- Experience of meeting targets (Desirable)
