- Job Outline & Purpose
The primary responsibility of this role is to support the development of new business and new opportunities. Working within the Business Development Team, this role will focus on the planning, writing and development of bids from initial PQQ to full and final submission with a view to securing new contracts, services and funding in line with our clients Strategic Plan.
Key Responsibilities & Tasks
- Lead the development, writing, and submission of relevant tenders to enhance the businesses apprenticeship provision primarily on opportunities within the NHS, Local Authorities, Local Government and large levy paying organisations.
- Identify and lead on the development, writing and submission of relevant tenders to enhance the companies current offer, securing funding via multiple income streams.
- Engage with subject matter experts, team members, and stakeholders to gather and consolidate the required information to ensure all requirements are met in line with the tender specification and scoring matrix of each bid submitted.
- Ensure all proposals adhere to tender requirements, quality standards, and align with the company's offerings and values.
- Work collaboratively with managers, sales, marketing, quality and delivery teams to develop competitive proposals.
- Continuously update and maintain a knowledge base of industry trends, public sector procurement processes, and best practices.
- Maintain an up-to-date bid library, ensuring content is current, relevant, and easily accessible.
- Attend client debriefing and feedback sessions post-submission, to understand the strengths and areas for improvement in the proposals.
- Provide insights on proposal strategies, competitive analysis, and win themes to ensure a strategic approach to tendering is adopted within the organisation
- Track and report on proposal outcomes, making recommendations for future improvements
Person Specification
Essential
Experience -
- Extensive experience in writing public sector tenders, or ideally in training/apprenticeship services (Minimum of 1 year)
- Proven track record of winning public sector contracts.
- Outstanding writing, editing, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with the UK public sector procurement processes.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- An ongoing commitment to quality.
- Self-disciplined and pro-active approach.
- Highly organised.
- Strong presentation skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Desirable
Qualifications
- Certification with the Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP) preferred

This role involves travel to and working at all of our clients centres, so post holder must be mobile and willing to travel.
