Description

ROLE PURPOSE

Our clients are currently seeking to appoint Trainer / Assessors to deliver Health and Social Care qualifications and short courses from Levels 2 to 5. This role would suit a person with relevant experience and who has good communication skills and enjoys applying those skills in a training and assessment environment. You will be a highly self-motivated, energetic and driven individual, encompassing a strong sense of autonomy. You will possess strong presentation and communication skills and be able to demonstrate achievement of targets.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Support apprentices and learners undertaking Qualifications and courses in Health and Social Care & Adult Care from Level 2 up to Level 5.

Assess learner evidence and providing constructive support and feedback to apprentices.

Have high expectations of apprentices and motivate and build a ‘can do’ attitude with them.

Manage your own workload to ensure the full requirements of the post are carried out.

Observe and assess apprentices to support them with their qualification and monitor progress to maximise their potential.

Communicate with employers and workplace mentors to confirm assessment dates, times and activities and to build positive relationships.

Working to specific quality and completion of targets.

Organising and maintaining documentation on learner progress.

Maintain appropriate observational and assessment records and ensure relevant paperwork is completed to evidence the assessment process.

To provide a friendly and supportive service to learners, using a range of communication.

To provide support to the learners through a variety of platforms to include telephone, email, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Skype and online learning platforms.

To work within the framework set out by Awarding Bodies or other accrediting agencies, including verification and moderation systems, whether set internally or externally.

Receive and act on feedback from management, IQA and EQA.

Play an active role in the department, contributing to meetings, schemes of work, assessment, updates as appropriate and share best practice.

Develop new materials as relevant in order to enhance the delivery programme.

 

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

Assessor qualified, A1, TAQA, D32/D33, CAVA.

Recognised teaching qualification e.g. PTTLS, Award in Education and Training.

Minimum of level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care / Adult Care.

Experience of delivering and assessing qualifications.

Experience of using Microsoft Teams, Zoom and Skype is highly desirable.

Vocational competence in Health and Social Care / Adult Care.

Safeguarding Children in Education training.

Prevent Awareness training.

Understand the requirements of Prevent Duty.

Safer Recruitment training.

Be able to keep detailed, accurate, secure written details of concerns and referrals.

Hold a full and clean driving licence

Experience in delivering and assessing qualifications in the wider Early Years sector desirable but not essential for this role.

Excellent IT Skills and proficient in using E-Portfolio's and Online Learning and Assessment platforms.
