Through excellent resource and people management, this role ensures our clients apprenticeship delivery team is highly motivated, fully supported, complying with processes, and meeting all KPIs.
Working strategically across apprenticeship programmes, this role manages Senior Programme Leaders, Programme Leaders, and freelancers, to deliver impactful work-based learning provision for all learners and clients.
You will be passionate about apprenticeships and dedicated to excellence. At all times you will work to ensure the Delivery team meets specific Ofsted and ESFA requirements, providing clear 
communication, consistent advice, and effective checks on performance.   You will also be a Safeguarding Officer, leading on embedding best practices and processes to ensure the safety of all learners.
As part of the Delivery department, this role reports to Education Director and works closely with the Head of Quality, Head of Functional Skills, and Learner Support Executive. It also sits on the Atom Committee which develops improvements across delivery aligned to Ofsted objectives and frameworks.
The role will work closely with the Head of Programme Performance & Apprenticeship Programme Managers to ensure the smooth end to end delivery and performance of all apprenticeship programmes.
The role also supports the apprenticeship Community Connector Programme and L&D activities by ensuring delivery resource is carefully managed. Where necessary, this role connects to Operations, Performance and Client teams, ensuring a joined-up approach across different departments.
 
Role Responsibility
  • Day to day line management of Programme Leaders, including weekly 1:1 reviews, check-in to set objectives for the week, monitor trackers and data packs, and share best teaching practice.
  • Manage a high performing delivery team that is well connected, collaborative, creative and confident in high quality teaching practices and all apprenticeship processes
  • Regularly review Programme Lead progress via monthly data packs and quality processes (such as observations, learner feedback) to ensure they are meeting KPIs
  • Identify areas for development and escalate any weaknesses or concerns to senior leaders 
  • On a quarterly basis, conducting Programme Leaders’ Development Discussions, mapped against the Competency Framework and aligned to specific Programme Standard SARs and Quality Improvement Plans.
  • Plan day to day resources for all apprenticeship delivery, respond professionally to challenges, and have robust contingency plans 
  • Provide high quality onboarding for all PLs, with on-going processes for checking knowledge and understanding and embedding best practice
  • Ensure effective holiday cover and adequate cover during sick leave, with robust solutions that protect learner experience and ensure high quality delivery
  • Manage the apprenticeship freelancer pool, including organising training events and refresher sessions
  • When necessary, support Programme Leads by carrying out assignment marking, initial assessment calls, RPL assessments, Progress Reviews
  • Keep up to date with educational trends, including innovative teaching approaches, apprenticeship legislation and Safeguarding
 
The Ideal Candidate
  • Demonstrable knowledge of apprenticeships, including Ofsted and ESFA requirements, and a passion for apprenticeships is essential
  • A qualification in media or education is preferred but not essential
  • Certified Safeguarding Officer, with up to date Prevent qualifications, is essential (alternatively, training can be provided and must be achieved within 8 weeks in the role)
  • At least 2 years-experience leading a team, including implementing effective onboarding, and successfully managing remote teams
  • Experience within the creative sector is preferable, ideally within a multimedia company
  • Strong expertise in educational practice, ideally working with various apprenticeship Standards and awarding bodies
  • Strong sense of initiative, with excellent resource management skills and the ability to promote process improvement
  • Highly collaborative with exceptional inter-personal skills and the ability to influence others and communicate clearly.
  • Excellent management skills, with outstanding attention to detail and a relentless commitment to best practice.
