They have cornered the 5-star luxury hotel market in London, with clients such as the Savoy, Dorchester, Maybourne Group, and the Rosewood choosing them as their preferred training provider and have develop partnerships with other hotel, restaurant & catering groups nationally. Apprenticeships is at the core of what they do, and their client base is the hospitality industry. Positive learner experience is critical to customer success.
Overview of role:
Our client is looking for an experienced Commercial Director to add value to their growth activities by identifying new commercial opportunities and managing marketing efforts. You will keep abreast of trends and market conditions to provide strategic advice to upper management. An excellent commercial director has an entrepreneurial mindset and great leadership skills. The ideal candidate will also be a creative strategist with excellent organisational abilities. The goal is to promote and expand the company’s commercial and apprenticeship activity that will generate revenues and lead to sustainable growth.
Responsibilities:
• Developing and implementing commercial strategies according to company goals and objectives aiming to accelerate growth
• Conducting market research and analysis to create detailed business plans on commercial opportunities (expansion, business development etc.)
• Understanding the requirements of existing customers to ensure their needs are being met and we are adding value
• Develop and implement commercial and ESFA funded strategies according to company goals and objectives aiming to accelerate growth
• Conduct market research and analysis to create detailed business plans on commercial and apprenticeship opportunities (expansion, business development etc.)
• Act to acquire new customers and manage client relationships (new and existing)
• Collaborate with and coordinate diverse teams (marketing, sales, customer service etc.)
• Build and maintain profitable partnerships with key stakeholders
• Monitor performance of commercial and activities using key metrics and prepare reports for senior management
• Assist in setting financial targets and budget development and monitoring
• To facilitate and manage all ESF/AEB/GLA projects in line with required outcomes outlined in the programme sheets.
Requirements:
• Proven experience as commercial director or other relevant role
• Proven experience in sales and/or marketing and managing relationships with key clients
• In-depth understanding of market research methods and analysis
• Solid knowledge of performance reporting and financial/budgeting processes
• Commercial awareness partnered with a strategic mindset
• Excellent organisational and leadership skills
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
• Understanding of ESFA funding rules and the landscape of apprenticeships (Desirable)
• The flexibility to be hands on and operative due to the size of the business.
