Travel across Manchester and Newcastle will be required as part of the role.
Our client is looking for a new Business Development Manager across 2 locations, Manchester and Newcastle. You will be responsible for maximising the funded training opportunities in these areas. They are looking for a sales-orientated person who can generated new business.
You will be self-motivated, with exceptional relationship management experience and a “can-do” attitude to generate leads, specifically within the funded training market. It is therefore essential that you have experience in managing funded / public sector relationships. The Business Development Manager will work closely with the Funded Training Manager to leverage and grow the relationships with key buyers to maximise opportunities through various frameworks promoting our clients’ services and identifying existing and future opportunities.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES- Build strong and sustainable relationships with clients, actively listening to their needs and developing solutions for them based on the portfolio of diplomas and courses.
- Successfully generate a consistent increase of leads/enquiries coming into the business, leading to incremental sales performance.
- Nurture the most senior-level relationships with key strategic stakeholders and senior influencers within the NHS, DWP, Local Authorities, and other private and public sector organisations through regular communications, meetings, and conferences.
- Manage, maintain, and develop a pipeline of opportunities using expert sales and negotiation skills through to enrolment.
- Identify the key stakeholders and buyers withing organisations connected to frameworks and dynamic purchasing systems that our client is registered with, promoting products and services and encouraging purchases through the systems.
- Support the Funded Training Manger in identifying any up-coming and future procurements activities that are beneficial.
- Working closely with the operations team.
- Submit internal reports to management team on progress.
KEY CHARACTERISTICS- A natural ability to attend networking events and engage with people, garner new relationships to create opportunities
- Knowledge of UK education funding initiatives
- Proven working experience as a business development manager, sales executive or a relevant role in the education or procurement sector
- Highly motivated and takes initiative to seek out new funding opportunities.
- An ability to build good relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
- Proven ability to work as part of a team.
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time
- Proficient computer skills and use of Microsoft Office
- Professional appearance
- Excellent attention to detail
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE- Experience working in a similar environment
- Awareness of Government policies and funding knowledge in the education market
- Experience in adult education / learning and development
- Business Development skills/experience
