Description
Our client is looking for an office administrator with experience in the marine/ maritime sector. Our client, one of Britain’s most established maritime charities, are seeking a creative individual who wants to make a difference to the lives of sector professionals. You will be a highly effective communicator, numerate with good IT skills and an eye for detail. They are a friendly, values-based organisation offering flexible working and generous benefits. The role is located in central London.
 
Key Responsibilities
 
  • Support and develop the range of the company services for maritime professionals and seafarers including training and mentoring programmes.
  • Assist in providing an effective and efficient bookshop and library service to individuals, ships and maritime organisations
  • Identify opportunities and promote courses to potential users and the Coming Ashore programme to seafarers, employers and other potential stakeholders
 
 
Personal Specification:
  • Good general level of formal education (including English and mathematics GCSE Grade C or above)
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office applications and virtual meetings software
  • Experience of working in a customer facing role, including handling a wide range of enquiries by telephone and email
  • Experience of basic database maintenance and management
  • Experience of maintaining physical and electronic records and filing systems
