Description
We are seeking candidates for a new post of Head of Engagement – reporting to the CEO, this new role will be key to delivering our client’s strategy for 2023 and beyond through; influencing government and industry policy, gathering client insights to develop our services, building and delivering interest and investment in our client’s activities, and bringing together key areas of stakeholder engagement, business development and communications into an integrated whole, supporting the overall strategic aims of the company.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Influence Government and Industry Policy to deliver skills necessary to enable industry to deliver the proposed Government Investment
  • Embed customer and stakeholder engagement throughout the organisation to support the delivery, operational and strategic objectives
  • Influence principal stakeholders including national and local government/councils and employers encouraging investment in skills development by purchasing our client’s services
  • Identify, prioritise and influence stakeholders to support corporate objectives and deliver mutually beneficial outcomes for customers, stakeholders and the business
  • Use customer insights to generate leads for the development team.
  • Influence rail employers emerging skills strategy carefully shadowing DfT policy
  • Be both strategic in nature but understand operational and tactical implementation
  • Influence national and locally multi-layered stakeholders
  • Support Commercial team in the development and rollout of the Skills Brokerage Service securing external funding
  • Corporate support – strategic planning, project specific and other adhoc work in support of theCEO and Senior Leadership Team

  • Effective communicator and networker with the ability to quickly forge strong relationships both internally and externally
  • Able to demonstrate success in influencing external decision-makers through strategic communication campaigns
  • Essential experience is achieving business success and leading positive change through delivering effective stakeholder engagement
  • Strong strategic acumen to develop and implement medium and long term objectives and contribute to the business strategy
  • Experience of an industry undergoing significant change
  • Results-driven with an ability to get into the detail where necessary
  • Clear sense of ownership and an ability to follow through tenaciously to resolve issues
  • A team builder with a passion for collaboration and developing solutions with others
  • Experience of a regulated industry
