- Job Overview
Our client are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate learner focused ESOL Tutor to deliver high quality, supportive and engaging qualifications to candidates enrolled onto their programmes in London and surrounding areas. You will be delivering ESOL Training.
Main Responsibilities:
- Engage and support learners in a face-to-face setting with some blended delivery, to achieve qualifications in a timely manner
- Manage a caseload of learners effectively meeting OFSTED and Awarding Bodies requirements in teaching, learning and assessment for learners
- Managing caseloads to ensure that KPIs are met
- Undertake induction, initial assessment, diagnostic, ILP, skills scan and reviews with learners ensuring feedback provided and acted up appropriately.
- Support a caseload of learners through providing effective advice and guidance and training to progress into sustainable employment, work placement, apprenticeship or further education
- Accurately and securely recording learner progress, setting of targets and agreeing areas of improvement
- Ensuring learners are prepared to pass their examination
- Conduct mock testing and arranging final exams/tests.
- Embedding British values, prevent, safeguarding, equality and diversity throughout the teaching.
Candidate Skills
What we are looking for
- Experience of teaching learners aged 16+ in an adult education setting
- Experience of teaching ESOL
- Knowledge and understanding of ESOL curriculum and examinations process.
- Ability to use your interpersonal skills to manage relationships with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and with varying communication needs and requirements
- Excellent communication, teamwork and organisation skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- IT literate and competent in the use of all Microsoft Office programs and internet
- Experience of using BSKB and e-portfolios
- Knowledge and understanding of 'Safeguarding' vulnerable adults and children
- Ability to cope with a challenging and varied workload
Qualifications
- Teaching qualification at level 4 or above
- Qualification in English and/or Mathematics at Level 2 or above.
- ESOL qualification
