- Description
- Our client is looking for an Electrical Installation Tutor to provide quality support, training, and assessment to all learners across our programmes and uphold and develop the company policies and procedures to ensure excellent delivery of provision to all learners on programmes.
Responsibilities:
- Liaise with the Employer/Managers in order to facilitate the sign up of new apprentices.
- Liaise with the Employer/Manager/on a regular basis in order to evaluate Apprentices progress and training needs and offer support and guidance as required.
- Review and continually monitor the apprentices’ progress on a regular basis and record it as required according to the companies records and documentation.
- Offer support and coaching to apprentices, over the telephone, in the workplace and by attending training sessions at Centre, to enable them to attain the relevant qualification units, milestones and standards. Perform individual assessments and tests to ensure the apprentice progress.
- Fully prepare the apprentice for the End Point Assessment in a timely manner including carrying out a mock assessment and giving appropriate feedback to support development.
- Design training plans for each apprentice, and continually update their ILP.
- Provide all theoretical (classroom delivery) information regarding the relevant qualifications and standards to an appropriate level.
- Embed functional skills across our programmes to continually improve learners’ math’s and English skills for the duration of the programme. Ensuring you liaise and support the Functional Skills trainer where required.
- When required, support the Engagement Officer to vet employers’ health and safety standards, prior to placing a learner on work experience or an apprenticeship.
- When required make suitable recommendations and advise employers, on health and safety legislation and regulations, ensuring they are adhered to, and that the learner is working in a safe and secure environment.
- Periodically monitor the health and safety standards of the workplace ensuring the apprentice is always working in a safe and conscientious manner.
- Attend all meetings including, standardisation meetings, team meetings, development meetings, management meetings, health and safety and awarding organisation meetings and CPD activities as required.
- Maintain all records as per company procedure – using OneFile, apprentice reviews, assessment records, health, and safety records, awarding body documentation, e-portfolio, management information systems and other documentation pertaining to the apprentice’s progress.
- Liaise with employer/manager/trainer / supervisor to give appropriate information with regards to the apprentice’s progress, at the relevant and appropriate scheduled meeting, where evidence should be documented and recorded.
- Ensure both employer and learner are aware of their commitment to the off the job element of the standard and ensure the learner records the appropriate hours on a weekly basis.
- Update the learner support and pastoral care of any learner’s slow progress and problems on a monthly basis via e-mail and telephone communication, face to face. Respond to all e-mails and telephone calls in a timely fashion.
- Offer pastoral care and advice to apprentices in a supportive manner and record this according to company procedure.
- Continue to develop and improve on training resources, lesson plans and educational documentation used for the benefit of the apprentice and organisation.
- Actively recruit apprentices, NVQ’s and employers and explore new opportunities to increase learner numbers across all programmes.
- Fully commit to the policy of equality in carrying out all duties.
- Fully commit to the policies, procedures and standards implemented by the business at all times.
