Purpose of the job
To work with the Head of Apprenticeships and Curriculum Managers to deliver a high quality Electrical provision including classroom/workshop theory and practical teaching. This role will include onsite (employer based) assessments and reviews of apprentices, that meets with the quality expectations.
Responsibilities:
Lecturer:
To deliver high standards of teaching and learning and to monitor assessment processes in accordance with examination requirements.

To deliver L1, L2 and L3 Electrical work programmes using appropriate teaching methods.

Producing schemes of work, lesson plans, assessment plans, learning materials and any other related activities that impact on the effectiveness of learning.

Plan and deliver specialist sessions in acting using appropriate teaching methods whilst embedding the promotion of diversity within the electrical industry and the company.

To co-ordinate and maintain records of formative and summative assessments of students’ learning carried out by the course team.
-
To work pro-actively to forward the success and vision of the department.
To be responsible for creating and maintaining a safe working environment.

To observe and keep aware of health and Safety documentation and procedures in line with company Policy.

To undertake classroom or workshop risk assessments if required

To support the co-ordination, planning and delivery of pastoral and tutorial provision for students including acting as a personal tutor for students to:
-
Design and deliver a tutorial curriculum in line with company requirements
-
Assist in the identification of student’s individual needs and in the co-ordination of relevant support to meet their needs.
-
Provide pastoral support to learners, liaising with central support staff where necessary.
-
Monitor attendance and learning progress using Individual Learning Plans.
-
Assist students to set challenging targets to aid learning and personal development.
-
Ensure every learner receives careers education and guidance including an exit interview.
-
Ensure that students have an opportunity to give feedback on their learning experience.
-
To evaluate the effectiveness of the course through the application of the course review and evaluation process.
-
Liaise with parents and carers and ensure the timely completion of students’ progress reports that are forwarded to the same.
-
Act as a point of contact for communications to and from students.

Attend personal tutor forums
Assessor:
To provide induction, assessment, training, coaching, teaching and assessment to learners who are undertaking full-time learning and Apprenticeship Programs and supporting qualification(s).

Teach, assess, support, advise and assist learners during their training both at the office and in the workplace

Deal with queries when supervising learners.

Participate in the promotional and marketing aspects of the company.

Undertake initial assessment of leaners and assist in the learners action planning and delivery schedule
To assess learners progress and maintain records of assessments of learning carried out.

To create an engaging learning programme that inspires and motivates learners to improve their knowledge, skills and behaviours in the Electrical field to meet the needs of the awarding body, End-Point Assessment organisation and requirements of the industry to ensure job readiness.
To assess apprentices’ progress and maintain records of assessments of learning carried out.

Develop a flexible learning programme that accommodates group delivery and 1:1 delivery, offering a digital learning platform in addition to traditional face to face learning opportunities.

Deliver knowledge-based learning modules in accordance with the Awarding Body and IFA assessment guidelines

Conduct regular assessment of learning through workplace observations and professional discussions.
-
Create bespoke learning plans for each individual learner to stretch and challenge their ongoing development.
-
Provide timely reviews of learners’ progress to ensure they are progressing in line with their individual learning plan, ensuring timely achievements.

Regular gathering of employer feedback to ensure satisfaction levels are high and learner engagement is maintained.

Ongoing curriculum review to ensure it is innovative and engaging providing impact
-
Working with the Functional Skills Team to ensure that functional English, Maths and ICT is embedded into the curriculum, ensuring upskilling in all key areas.

Use of the ProSuite and ePortfolio systems to evidence and log all learning interventions, demonstrating the ongoing progress of each learner throughout their programme duration. Including specific qualifications, OTJ hours and apprenticeship standards to ensure these are continually moving forwards in a timely manner.

Deliver in accordance with the standard operating model, ensuring compliance with the ESFA funding guidelines

Prepare learners for their final exams, practical assessments, and End-Point Assessment, conducting mock assessments to ensure readiness.

Working with staff and strand specialist IQA to establish and ensure high quality internal pre gateway and qualification checks are carried out regularly.

Maintain accurate records of learner assessments and achievements and that these link across all aspects of delivery

Accredit successful completion of learners’ tasks including work based activities in line with company assessment and verification policy, completing all related administrative activities.

Effective delivery of work-based assessment and monitoring/target setting within the area of competence.
Strand/Curriculum Specifics:
Successful candidates will need to have experience of:
-
Experience of working in an Electrical industry with in depth knowledge of the different disciplines required.
-
Experience in the fields of lecturing and assessing Electrical both to Full/Part-Time learners and apprentices.
-
Experience of lecturing and assessing apprenticeship standards and working towards gateway readiness and EPA completion to a high standard.
-
Delivering high quality assessment and teaching of recognised and approved qualifications in the Electrical field.
-
Experience of session planning both short and long-term to improve ensure that both practical, theory and assessment delivery is organised, structured and of high quality.

Have strong teamworking, attention to detail, planning, time management and decision-making skills to provide high quality learning.

Skilled in the use of multiple IT packages (inc MS Office) and systems relevant to the company and department in order to communicate effectively, record and analyse data to ensure good quality delivery and timely completions.

Good communication skills, whether face-to-face, on the telephone, in writing or via a range of digital platforms.
