Description

THIS IS A REMOTE ROLE WITH NATIONAL TRAVEL... ACCEPTING APPLICANTS NATIONWIDE

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced butcher looking to transition into a training role, or for an established trainer/assessor seeking to make a real impact within a learner-focused organisation.

Our client is looking for a passionate and experienced Butchery Trainer to deliver high-quality apprenticeship training to learners across England. In this hybrid role, the trainer will support apprentices on a monthly basis through both practical and theory-based sessions, ensuring they meet required standards and stay on track to achieve their qualifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective monthly face-to-face and remote sessions to butchery apprentices, aligned with apprenticeship standards.
  • Provide practical skills training in various employer settings, assessing learner competence on-site.
  • Facilitate theoretical learning through a blended delivery model (face-to-face and online).
  • Manage and maintain a compliant learner journey, ensuring documentation, progress tracking, and reviews meet DfE and Ofsted standards.
  • Support learners with functional skills (English and Maths), where required.
  • Offer constructive feedback, advice, and guidance to encourage learner progression and achievement.
  • Keep up to date with industry standards and evolving training practices.
  • Attend standardisation, CPD, and team meetings.
  • Support learners in preparing for End Point Assessment (EPA).
  • Maintain a caseload of learners and consistently meet agreed KPIs.

Requirements:

Essential:

  • Proven industry experience in butchery.
  • Strong communication, organisational, and IT skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a national caseload.
  • Willingness to travel across England (with reimbursed expenses).

Desirable (not essential):

  • Level 3 Award in Education and Training (AET)
  • Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (CAVA)
  • WATOK Certificate (Welfare of Animals at the Time of Killing)
  • Experience delivering apprenticeships or vocational qualifications

Don’t hold these qualifications yet? Full training and support will be provided to achieve them as part of induction and professional development.

What’s Offered:

  • A structured pathway into the education and training sector
  • Flexible hybrid working
  • Mileage and travel expenses reimbursed
  • Supportive, learner-focused working environment
  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
