- Description
Deliver engaging and high-quality teaching across a range of Computing and ICT programmes (Levels 1–5), supporting student retention, progression, and achievement.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver Computing and ICT lessons across Level 1 to Level 5 courses.
- Prepare schemes of work, lesson plans, and learning resources.
- Assess student work, provide feedback, and support academic progress.
- Use IT and digital tools to support effective teaching and assessment.
- Carry out academic progress reviews and track learner outcomes.
- Participate in student recruitment through open days, interviews, and promotional activities.
- Contribute to induction and tutorial processes to support student integration.
- Act as a tutor when required, promoting good attendance, retention, and achievement.
- Keep records up-to-date, including registers, reports, and course documentation.
- Ensure students are prepared for progression to higher education, apprenticeships, or employment.
- Maintain current subject knowledge and undertake relevant CPD.
- Participate in curriculum and quality meetings and contribute to course reviews.
- Promote equality, diversity, and safeguarding in all teaching practices.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
- Support learners' full Study Programmes, including English, maths, and work experience.
Essential Person Specification
- A degree in Computing or a closely related subject.
- Level 5 teaching qualification (e.g. DET, PGCE) or willingness to obtain one.
- GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or equivalent, or willingness to achieve.
- Experience teaching in Computing and ICT, preferably including BTEC or vocational pathways.
- Knowledge and experience in at least two of the following:

Website Design & Development

Graphic Design (Adobe tools)

Animation (Adobe Animate/After Effects)
- Up-to-date knowledge of Computing and IT industry developments.
- Ability to engage and support vocational learners aged 16–19.
- Effective classroom management and digital delivery skills.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Strong commitment to safeguarding, equality, and learner success.
