Job Title: Internal Quality Assurer – Construction / Building Services
Type: Full-time
Hybrid Working: 3 days office-based in Worcester
Salary: £32,000 – £35,000Job Purpose
To ensure high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment by monitoring, supporting, and developing assessors and trainers, ensuring compliance with awarding organisations and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and evaluate assessor/tutor performance and facilitate continuous improvement.
- Plan and conduct sampling of learner portfolios to ensure fair, valid, and reliable assessment.
- Maintain accurate IQA records, reports, and sampling plans.
- Support standardisation, professional development, and provide constructive feedback.
- Ensure compliance with awarding bodies and regulators (e.g. Ofqual, ESFA, OFSTED).
- Monitor learner progress and achievement.
- Promote safeguarding, equality, and diversity in all practices.
- Contribute to curriculum development, EQA visits, and continuous quality improvement.
- Identify risks and follow agreed procedures where quality concerns arise.
- Share best practice, maintain confidentiality, and attend meetings and training as required.
Essential Qualifications
- Level 4 IQA Award (or equivalent)
- Level 3 CAVA (or equivalent)
- Relevant sector experience and qualifications
- GCSE English & Maths (Grade C/4 or above)
Desirable
- Teaching qualification (AET/PTLLS or higher)
- Construction / Building Services NVQ Level 3+
Experience
- Internal Quality Assurer experience in education or training
- Working with awarding organisations and EQA visits
- Supporting and developing assessors/trainers
- Use of e-portfolio systems (e.g. BUD)
Skills
- Strong vocational assessment knowledge
- Excellent attention to detail and organisation
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
