Reporting into the Operations Manager the purpose of the IQA role is to support Skills
Coaches, and learners to successfully achieve their Apprenticeships through assessing the quality and development of Standards and internally assure the quality of assessment.You must have experience with the new Digital Standards, be this Software Development, Infrastructure (L3 & L4), Data or Unified Communications. Candidates without this experience will unfortunately not be considered.
Key duties and responsibilities
- To monitor the standard of the assessment process
- To plan, operate and evaluate the internal assessment and quality assurance systems
- To demonstrate own understanding and competence against the Apprenticeship Standards and EPA requirements
- To create and deliver on an IQA sampling plan and undertake sampling in accordance with individual Skills Coach risk assessment rating
- To monitor all IQA reports on E-track to ensure accurate sampling, timely completion, outstanding referrals, IQA errors
- Identify any issues, trends or training requirements across the Skills Coach team with the Delivery Managers and Quality Manager
- To ensure Skills Coaches are monitoring planned sampling dates
- To provide full feedback to Skills Coaches on E-track set up, assessment decisions and literacy through sampling reports
- To carry out and accurately document IQA observations and learner interviews as per IQA sampling plan
- To attend IQA meetings with the Quality Manager and carry out actions, as required
- To share areas of good practice and improvement for Skills Coaches with Lead IQA, other IQA’s and Skills Coaches, as required
- To support Skills Coach development and contribute to the overall improvement of the Apprenticeship provision
- To lead standardisation meetings and undertake improvements and actions
- To take part in organisation and facilitation of external quality checks and visits
- To monitor, respond and follow up poor learner progress and areas for improvements for Skills Coaches
