- Our client is looking for a Learning Technologies Manager.
Our client is a registered charity with more than 30 years’ experience of supporting those furthest away from the labour market to improve their employment prospects. They provide access to a wide range of training opportunities, face to face, online courses, virtual reality and on the job training / work experience.
The successful Learning Technologies Manager/Developer will be able to demonstrate their ability and knowledge to be able to oversee and develop the EdTech projects, helping to grow a core technical team to develop and support the programmes.
This role would suit a Developer, Experienced Software Developer or VR Developer who is now looking to secure a more strategic leadership role.
Responsibilities of the Learning Technologies Manager/Developer will include:
- Growing the internal technical capability for VR, AI and other innovative learning platforms.
- Working with technical external stakeholders to ensure that the products developed meet industry standards and remain accessible to the workforce and other primary users.
- Working with internal stakeholders to develop EdTech products that are informed by workforce and other end user feedback.
- Overseeing and managing relationships with external technical organisations e.g. developers and other suppliers.
- Coordinating with other departments, such as business development or operations, to ensure that they have the knowledge needed to deliver their activities
- Coordinating with funders and other outside parties to ensure that all technical requirements are being met.
- Providing technical guidance to projects in development.
- Working with designers to create new interfaces or improve existing ones.
- Technical and managerial supervision of staff.
The Learning Technologies Manager/Developer will have the following skills and experience:
- Degree qualified in Games Development, Software Development or other relevant technical degree.
- Experience in both Unreal & Unity, C#, C++, Object Oriented Programming.
- Experience in 3D model making and animation.
- Knowledge of optimizing software for specific headsets and platforms.
- Experience of using technology as an enabler so that accessing learning materials becomes easier for people with “a fear of learning” or other learning disadvantages e.g. dyslexia.
- Excellent time management and prioritisation skills of your own and any internal/external team’s time.
- An understanding of different software development methodologies.
- Awareness of tools and techniques to elicit customer requirements.
