- Our client requires an experienced, dependable, and detail orientated Quality and Compliance Director. The role, newly formed, will be to manage a growing company which has intentions to support increased demand for their services. The organisation delivers a range of employability programmes, apprenticeships and community programmes and as they develop, as they strive to maintain and improve quality, efficiency, and ambition for the learners. The role will be to oversee and develop the quality and compliance team, ensuring consistently high standards and efficiency. The role will have full responsibility and accountability as detailed below. This newly created role will work closely with the Co-Founders & Directors and be a member of their Senior Executive Board (SEB) of Directors. The ideal candidate is highly self-motivated, experienced, professional and capable of managing their workload and prioritising tasks in a fast-paced environment. The Quality & Compliance Director role requires someone with strong experience in leading and directing a quality and compliance team through growth, whilst working towards creating an exceptional experience for all both learners and clients.
Responsibilities [The below listed tasks/responsibilities are not exhaustive:]
Administrative & Strategy
- To provide leadership within the Quality & Compliance Division, ensuring that staff have clarity of purpose, are motivated and equipped to deliver their role within the business.
- Ensure a department wide focus on exceptional quality by delivering an outstanding learner/client experience.
- To manage and ensure overall quality & Ofsted standards are maintained and improved throughout the Group.

Drive and monitor performance across the following areas including setting and monitoring targets to deliver positive KPIs:
- Apprenticeship Quality Team.
- Employability Quality Team.
- Alternative Education Quality Team
- MIS and Compliance Team, including management of data and reporting.
- Learning Design Manager ensuring curriculum is engaging and fit for purpose.
- Creation and dissemination of the SAR & QIP for the Group.
- To act as Ofsted nominee and maintain Ofsted Grade ‘Good’ with the aspiration to achieve grade ‘Outstanding.’
- Oversee the roll out of the standardisation calendar to ensure best practice. Instruct and oversee an audit cycle to cover, EIF, GLA, ESF/ESFA (plus any other associated funding stream) requirements for the Group.
- Collaborate with Senior Managers and Directors to promote and develop quality and best practice in all aspects of teaching learning and assessment.
- To ensure accreditations and new quality awards and kite-marks are up to date achieved e.g., Matrix Standard.
- Lead on data analysis, including benchmarking, trend analysis to inform quality improvement strategies where required. Oversee progression and destination of learners across apprenticeship and traineeship programmes working with the quality and operational teams.
- Oversee the management of Awarding Body relationships and Centre Approval Status including the IQA and EQA process (including service delivery and value for money) Oversee and scrutinise the Compliance and MIS Function, ensuring data is clean. FRM, PDSAT and any other regulatory reports are maintained and accurate with an error rate of less than 2%.
- Lead and manage year end hard close for employability and apprenticeship provision.
- Improve delivery models to ensure quality and viability are maintained and meet employer, learner, and business needs.
- Be proactive in resource allocation, ensuring that the budget process supports and influences quality provision.
- Make a full contribution to the development of the strategic plan and develop the Business Plan in conjunction with the Co-Founders and other members of the Executive.
- Set and agree appropriate targets throughout the company in line with the strategic plan and take every steps to ensure that the client meets or exceeds these.
- Ensure open, transparent, and effective communication across the team.
- Model, foster and contribute to the development of the mission, culture, and values of our clientff.
- Represent the client externally as a senior ambassador for the business.
- Ensure that the systems structure and staff are in place within the company to achieve its plan to operate within the mission vision and values of the organisation.
Coaching & Collaborating
- Work collaboratively with other managers/stakeholders within our client to deliver exceptional customer service.
- Further develop systems to support robust performance management of the team. Ensure all staff are clear on their roles, responsibilities, and expectations of them. Coach, lead and develop direct reports, managing performance as appropriate through regular team meetings and 1-1s.
- Work closely with SEB members to retain and raise performance levels in all areas of the Group.
- Ensure staff are well trained and are performing to the highest possible standards Attend any external training as necessary to ensure constant knowledge of current government funding issues and communicate/implement these changes as appropriate.
- Identify and respond to changes in professional practice & standards.
- Ensure policies and procedures comply with the statutory and legal requirements.
- To take a lead on and monitor staff training needs and arrange training where necessary working closely with Human Resources in line with the Talent Management Strategy.
- Act in compliance with all the relevant statutory provisions, policies and procedures and regulations of both the organisation and its monitoring authorities.
- Comply with all legislative and regulatory requirements.

- Where business needs change, to undertake other responsibilities which are of a commensurate level outside the terms of this role profile.
- Act within the laws of England & Wales.

- Instil a culture of safeguarding best practice to ensure the safety, protection and wellbeing for all participants, customers, clients, partners, volunteers, and staff
