Overview
The Mentor will have responsibility for the delivery and assessment of the Apprenticeship programmes within their subject specialism – CISI Investment Advice Diploma (IAD L4) or CFA1, 2, 3 (L6). This is with a view that the successful applicant will study towards the CISI Chartered Wealth Management exams (L7). They will be responsible for a caseload of Apprentice learners whom they will mentor, train and monitor the learning and progression throughout the duration of programme.
Key Tasks and Accountabilities
- To deliver classroom-based and/or remote 1:1 sessions to Apprentices associated with their subject specialism against the Apprenticeship Programme and level
- To continuously improve and update teaching resources within their remit and capabilities subject to internal quality assurance
- To use a range of teaching and learning techniques
- To provide Apprentices with support in the classroom and remotely on a 1:1 basis
- To assess Apprentice achievements
- To support and embed functional skills English and maths at the appropriate level
- To support Apprentices to achieve technical qualifications where appropriate
- To ensure each Apprentice is following the agreed programme and schedule
- To actively support fellow members within the team
- To report Apprentice issues to their Line Manager
- To report to their Line Manager any disciplinary and/or classroom/learner management issues
- To mentor Apprentices to achieve and learn professional skills required for the work place in line with the appropriate Apprenticeship Standard
- To adapt delivery and assessment to meet the broad range of learning needs including the needs of those with learning difficulties and/or disabilities
- To monitor the progress of the Apprentices within their caseload
- To maintain appropriate tracking systems and procedures relating to quality, compliance, management and assessment in line with the EPAO, Apprenticeship Standards and all other regulatory requirements
- To ensure your compliance with business systems and procedures
- To carry out and record regular Apprentice reviews as required
- To maintain professional knowledge in the subject/sector specialism and models of curriculum development
- To have effective awareness of raising attendance, retention and achievement
- To provide a professional customer service to external and internal customers
Other Responsibilities
- To ensure that all the compliance and process requirements of funding partners are met in full
- To carry out regular on-site reviews of materials and delivery methods with the Curriculum Lead for the subject area and report findings
- To perform any ad-hoc duties that the Company considers to be reasonable.
- To be mindful of own personal safety and the safety of apprentices and colleagues in line with The Safeguarding Policy and to report any areas for concern as appropriate
- Attend training courses to further your personal development and knowledge
- To embed British Values, Equality and Diversity, Employability and Health and Safety into all programme delivery
- To provide Information Advice and Guidance at key points within the learning journey
Qualifications and Knowledge
Essential
- Must hold either of the following qualifications: CISI Investment Advice Diploma (IAD L4) or CFA1,2,3 (L6) and be willing to work towards the CISI
- Ability to teach and assess at all levels of subject specialism/s required to fulfil the role
- Relevant occupational competence
- Hold or be willing to work towards the Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational
- Focused on achieving outstanding retention and achievement rates
- Overall sound educational background
- GCSE Grade C or above English and math’s
- Be confident and comfortable supporting Functional Skills English and math’s with apprentices on a 1:1 basis
