Hybrid/The postholder can be based in any office but expected to travel between the centres in Chesterfield, Corby, Coventry, Hinckley,
Kettering, Leicester, Market Harborough, Redditch, and Wolverhampton, and to customer premises as required. Regular travel across the Midlands is expected.
As a member of our growing target-driven Business Development Team, you will be responsible for driving growth in our apprenticeship team. You will use your market knowledge, and in-depth understanding of apprenticeships to identify revenue generating opportunities, in new and existing markets, and to develop a profitable sales pipeline. You will tailor your lead generation tactics to suit the needs of clients to create new clients for the company and increase the growth of existing customer relationships. You will use your negotiating skills to ensure that mutually beneficial working relationships are developed and your experience of account management to maintain client relationships and generate additional income through repeat sales, cross-selling, and upselling opportunities. You will be bring in 10-20 starts a month, through both new lead generation and account management.
You will promote the organisation to end-users and intermediary organisations and support the development of marketing collateral.
You will contribute to bids and tenders, where appropriate, including developing persuasive content and generating costings.
You will act as an ambassador for the organisation, in face-to-face and virtual meetings, and networking events, to raise its profile in key markets and with nominated clients.
Business Development:
- Achieve targets of 10-20 starts a month
- Increase growth of existing clients by at least 10% a year.
- Gather, analyse, and interpret market and competitor data and use the results to identify growth trends, new target markets, and inform product developments
- Use market intelligence to develop tailored sales approaches that are capable of achieving 20% year-on-year growth, in new, and existing, markets
- Build profitable and sustainable sales pipelines, using a variety of online and offline lead generation approaches to acquire and retain clients, including networking, attending events, conferences and client meetings, cold calling, direct mail, personal selling, social media, webinars, emails, presentations and blogs
- Negotiate with clients to agree mutually beneficial contracts and/or delivery programmes
- Contribute to the development of bespoke marketing materials, including brochures, e-shots, web content, and social media posts and use the material to promote the product portfolio to new and existing clients
- Work with colleagues to plan programme and/or product delivery and ensure it meets the needs of client, funding bodies and intermediary organisations
- Plan regional campaigns that deliver against the objectives and performance targets of each programme and/or product
