About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a field-based, results-driven Business Development Manager to focus on new business sales in the Further Education (FE) sector. The role involves engaging with colleges to understand their needs, propose tailored soft skills training solutions, and drive adoption through strategic and consultative sales.

The successful candidate will be equipped with top-tier sales tools including LinkedIn Premium and Sales Navigator, Apollo (sales intelligence software), and HubSpot CRM.


Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue sales opportunities using data-driven insights
  • Book and attend meetings with prospective customers to generate new business
  • Develop and execute strategic sales initiatives to meet growth targets
  • Build relationships with FE colleges and understand their training needs
  • Deliver tailored sales presentations and proposals using a consultative approach
  • Maintain and manage an accurate sales pipeline
  • Forecast and track account activity and revenue projections
  • Negotiate deals to secure profitable pricing and terms
  • Report regularly on sales performance and outcomes to management
  • Log all interactions and updates in the CRM system (HubSpot)
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support customer success and implementation
  • Gather market intelligence to shape future sales and marketing strategies
  • Prioritise leads and opportunities for maximum impact
  • Manage full sales cycle from prospecting to close
  • Represent the business at in-person and virtual customer meetings
  • Meet or exceed individual KPIs and business targets
  • Stay up to date with sector trends and customer needs
  • Support cross-functional collaboration with marketing and delivery teams
  • Uphold company values in all external interactions
  • Work independently while staying aligned with the wider team

About You

  • Proven experience in business development or account management within the FE or education sector
  • Comfortable working to and exceeding targets and KPIs
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
  • Skilled in negotiation and stakeholder engagement
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Competent in CRM and sales platforms such as HubSpot and LinkedIn Sales Navigator
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently
  • Passionate about helping clients solve problems and achieve outcomes
